:: DONATE TIME (VOLUNTEER)
Volunteers play an important role in today’s healthcare system. They help the hospital run smoothly, and allow doctors and nurses to spend their time focusing on providing the best healthcare services for their patients. Volunteers assist caregivers in caring for patients and visitors. A volunteer works in a hospital without regular pay. They essentially donate their time and skills to help the community.
What do we look for in a volunteer? (Who is a Volunteer)
Prayatn care is looking for individuals who are
- Compassionate, motivated and dedicated
- Good communicators who want to help patients and caregivers
- Age, gender, ethnic background and socio-economic background are different
- Some who have had personal or family experiences with cancer
:: Timings for a Volunteer
We welcome participants at any hour, but the greatest need is for volunteers with time from Monday through Saturday between the hours of 11:00 am and 6:00 pm. Volunteers must maintain a good attendance record and must give an average of at least 6 hours of service each month. Generally, we prefer adults who can make a commitment to participate for 1 year. For students, the minimum is 4 weeks.
